Rebecca Bartley is an advocate for people who use drugs and alcohol, and understands the need for compassionate, harm reduction-centered, evidence-based treatment in healthcare. She was one of the first Substance Use Navigators under the CA Bridge model. During her time as a SUN in an emergency department, she found that giving hope and creating opportunities for people who had usually experienced stigma and were handed outdated resources, truly rewarding. The participants she worked with were some of the kindest, most appreciative people she’s met in her entire life. This motivated Rebecca to take on SUN leadership roles, with CA Bridge as a SUN Mentor, then the role of Regional Lead and subsequently the role of Substance Use Navigation Supervisor at Healthful. Her mission is to support the clients of Healthful and the Navigators working in the field with the tools they need to excel in their roles, and make a bigger impact within every emergency department, hospital, and organization she can get the opportunity to support.
